On Sunday I left Mexico City and traveled for 2,5 hours east to Puebla. The bus was super comfortable, even with a screen with a movie playing :D. When I arrived I was picked up by Pepe. Pepe is the uncle of George. I got fully immersed in the family life as we went to the sunday familiy reunion at one of the grandparents. I had some nice food and we played a card game that they call ´Schnauz´. It was intoduced to them by a german friend and after a while I identified the game as ´Schwimmen´ (31?). I was surprised to hear that in Puebla there are a lot of german companies, like Volkswagen, Audi and Thyssen Krupp. That is why there a re living quite some germans here and some Poblanos speak a little German.
I am staying with Pepes Family: Sandy (Wife of Pepe), Juan Carlos (Son, 16) and Fer (Daughter, 12). The house is really, really nice and I feel very welcome here. So the week is organized in way that every day one of the uncles or aunts of George picks me up in the morning and I spend the day with them.

This is at a place called Cholula. There was a Atztec pyramid here but the Spanish build a church on top of it usung the stones of the pyramid. |

In the background you v¿can see the volcano Malinche (I think). There are two more around Puebla: Popocatépetl, el Iztaccíhuatl. I can´t quite grasp the size of cities here. They are just huge and don´t seem to follow any system. They just grow in all directions, skyscrapers next to little huts, next to residential estates, next to shopping malls. |

As you see, you can´t see the original pyramid anymore, it is overgrown by vegetation. |

Tuesday I went with Pepe to The International Barock Museum. A really modern, really good museum! On the picture is an interactive screen where you can touch the different paintings and get information. |

Mexican Cerveza Chelada: Salt on the rim, and a mix of Maggi sauce, worcester sauce (i think), tabasco and lime plus beer. Sounds weird but is actually really tasty! |

Pepe, Fer and me |
I like the time in Puebla with Georges family a lot! I get to know some things about Mexican customs and I can ask a lot of questions. Also Juan Pablo an Fer are really open teenagers and I like to spend time with them and see how they live and what they do- and to be honest, it is not that different from my teenage years.
Right now am waiting to be picked up by Fernando to explore the city center a bit and visit a nearby village which is known for their handycrafts.
